Dear Friends,
This week I found myself in the unusual position of being approached by friends and family who are upset that they couldn’t “rise above” the drama that was embroiling them in long-term negative relationships. Old stuff keeps rearing its ugly head, and just how is one supposed to “give it to God?” What does that even look like?
I could only offer what I have learned on this path of Ananda (plus my complete empathy — we have all been there!). To shift the karma/pattern/negativity, you acknowledge that the seed of it is an energy whirlpool (vritti) in your energy spine. During meditation, prayer, or breathwork, imagine this whirlpool straightening itself and the newly freed energy whooshing its way to the top of the spine and into the point between the eyebrows. Imagine it then shoots out into the Infinite through the doorway of your spiritual eye. Believe it is doing so, and affirm sincerely, I cannot resolve this on my own. I release it to you. Do this as slowly and frequently as necessary to feel a shift. And then, remain committed in your detachment and thoughts of peace and freedom for yourself and the other person.
Please join us this Sunday, December 4, 2022 for meditation according to the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda and expounded by his direct disciple Swami Kriyananda, from whom the above and many other practical, super-conscious techniques come. Melissa will lead us. Together let us raise ourselves above the “battle din of activity” and soar in the skies of peace.
