This past weekend, some of us drove up to Dallas for a retreat centered on the theme of transmuting our karma. After three days of the high vibration we shared there, as well as benefiting from my uplifting traveling companions, I came home feeling as if in a bubble of deep, impenetrable joy! Before reaching my house, I ordered tacos for my family. Waiting in my car for the tacos to be ready, my head and heart literally buzzing with residual happiness from the retreat, I beheld the busy scene of passers-by and patio diners with different eyes. I felt as if each person I was seeing were like one of my own kindred. Tenderly, I looked upon the mom and her college-age son, the families with kids in soccer gear having their Sunday dinner, the random people to-and-froing among the shops. The overwhelming feeling was complete acceptance of each person and respect for their journey, as well as a deep connection as a fellow Earthling. As I reflected on being in this heavenly Twilight Zone, I realized a couple of things: One, this is unconditional love. Two, ironically, this was achievable because I myself was uplifted while at the same time I was detached from the scene. Three, this detachment and joy allowed some dissolution of my ego, which opened me to the flood of unconditional love for all around me. Four, this is how the Divine loves us. I tried to keep this going as long as I could, but alas! This morning, while singing a love-chant to God, I honked angrily and called stupid another parent in the carline at my son’s school! Sigh!!! And so the inner work continues!! 😀
Let’s accompany each other on this long, winding, joyful, and challenging road we call Life. Come with your gifts and receptivity this Sunday as we gather in satsang, as on every Sunday morning.

Joy is within us,
Moved from Dallas to Austin about a year.
A couple of weeks ago, I ordered a book at the library “The Yoga Sutra of Patanjali” by David Gordon White, a new translation for me.
I randomly opened the book and found your Ananda Austin card placed inside: very joyful.
Looking forward to attending the Satsang this Sunday, April 9th.
