Dear Friends,
I remember when I first came onto the Ananda path in 2006 while living in India. I had already read Paramahansa Yoganandaji’s Autobiography of a Yogi a couple of times. Browsing the Bangalore bookstore shelves, I discovered many published books containing his writings and talks. I found them to be such treasures: The Divine Romance, Man’s Eternal Quest, and Journey to Self Realization, all transcriptions of his talks during his ministry in southern California. I was moved by how compassionately and insightfully he embraced every aspect of human life. From practical concerns about health, to dealing with interpersonal relationships, to the path of spiritual growth, to esoteric topics such as where is Jesus now and why does God permit evil, each talk made me feel a personal connection. Eventually, I finally noticed a pattern: for any situation, the way forward was always to meditate. Or meditate more. Or meditate even more!
Could it be that simple? Yes! Everything in life will improve if you make a spiritual effort now, to paraphrase Yogananda’s guru. Come see for yourself! Beginners and advanced meditators welcome!
